Volunteering

Home / Volunteering

There are lots of ways to volunteer at Uplyme Church, whether it is helping our church look beautiful or making coffee after morning worship or putting up shelves. We are thankful for the time and experience all our volunteers give. We also take safeguarding very seriously. If you are over 16 and work regularly with children, young people or vulnerable adults then you will be recruited in line with the diocesan safeguarding policy.

volunteering

As a worker with children, young people or vulnerable adults you will be required to complete a Volunteer-Registration-Form and return it to the leader of that ministry, our safeguarding officers, Morag Kingsbury and Brenda Soldan, or the Church Administrator. Following this your referee will be contacted and you will complete an Enhanced DBS check with a church safeguarding officer and/or using the Ebulk guide for applicants. Finally, if needed, additional training will be given.

safeguarding

You will need to be familiar with the Volunteer-Guidelines and with the child safeguarding or vulnerable adult safeguarding policies should you be working with

children and young people or vulnerable adults. Brenda Soldan is our Safeguarding Officer for children and young people. Morag Kingsbury is our Safeguarding Officer for vulnerable adults. Both Brenda and Morag can be contacted via the contact form.
